Is your housing affordable?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Affordable_housing
Mine, by pure definition, is probably not, but what to do in one of the most expensive places to live. Silicon Valley, and for that matter the larger SF Bay Area, and California in general.
What can I pay, what will I pay?
Lots of levels to this issue, I guess I could live in place that is far cheaper, and more on par with what I should be paying for housing. So why dont I? Because I'm still willing to pay so much to live where I do, and so I do. Then there are those who, just cannot hold onto the bottom rung of the ladder, where do they live, and how? Hmm, well I can only know my place on the ladder, which, is having finally bought, what for me is an expensive, one bedroom condo in Campbell, CA. Though in this town I bought one of the lowest priced pieces of real estate.
I wish the housing market was more affordable, but so does everyone else here, cause as soon as it got cheap, we'd all collectively move up to the next bigger house, and more people would move here. This place just has never ending demand, and that, for now, does not seem to be changing.
But should I be payed more? Sure why not, and then I could afford more.
Most of us seem locked in to finding our own version of the American Dream of success, and even through we all have different visions and dreams, often that will be tied into our home, our castle, where we can be king, or queen.
