  • Its the thought that counts.  Though I actually don't even know what the thought is.
I got home from the gym today, and on my doorstep, a little golden box, See's Candies, but its not candy inside, its a folded paper, with some characters etched out on it in kid handwriting?  Does it say Isaac I wonder???  And two paper clips and, a nickel.

There are a couple kids in my complex, I don't know any of them, other than I might wave when I drive out, mostly making sure they see me, and get out of my way so I don't run anyone over.

Was this a random gift, or was a targeted, you know that nice guy who waves hi and does not run us over?

I remember as a kid sometimes making little bouquets with the neighbor girl, and leaving them on the doorsteps of our favorite neighbors.   Who wouldn't want a dandelion and clover bouquet?

On the same token, who wouldn't want a gift of paper clips and a nickle, wrapped in a cute golden box?

Its the thought that counts, I assume it was a thought of kindness to a neighbor.

  • Strange but perhaps it has great significance to the one who gave it

  • @Umnenga - That's kinda what I think.  To a kid simple
things like a shiny gold box, nickel, and even a paper clip, can be
little treasures, and to give them away, that's meaningful.
