You know those times when you really want to blog, but nothing terribly important is burning on your mind? I'm in that zone.
I know with the stock market melting down, or hurricanes running over cities, the election impeding, I should have something, but I don't. I just don't.
I feel the economy is out of my hands, I am frugal with what money I have, I could not do more that that.
Cant control the weather, much as I might forecast it.
I'm voting for Obama, and if Palin wins, well I voted with my one vote as best I could.
I guess I just don't feel in control of these kinds of events, so cease to worry to much about them. I will do what little parts I can, but beyond that, hands of fate, hand of God, whatever.
Today I went to Trader Joes to pick up a few things, I even opted to walk there, its not far at all. Upon exiting, I was approached by a Greenpeace person, sharing with me the horrors the Kleenex industry is doing to the forests of Canada, and what Greenpeace is doing to stop it.
OK, mind you I'm totally down with stopping the man from tearing down the forest senselessly, but it came down to, they want money, I don't feel I have more to give, my charity list is full. I said I walked to the store and brought my own bags, thats what I have in my to save the world today, my free little part.
Its not that I mind a hippie and their cause, I'm just reaching compassion fatigue. I liked the concept of the people living in the trees in Berkley for 2 years, trying in vain to save them. Mind you I'll never do that, but props to them. My city is cutting a big tree down around the corner from me, and I got a letter informing me of my opportunity to speak at the council meeting if I have objections. Its a pretty tree, and will be missed, but its probably becoming a hazard or something, no matter what, I'm not climbing it and living in it for even one day.
So I call myself liberal, but clearly these folks are even a set apart from me. We cant all run off to save the world, someone has to go to work. Guess I'm one of those poor working fools.

Don't you mean when McCain wins? Palin is running for Vice President, not for President.
I'm middle of the road, politically speaking. I'm a Pagan as you know, and I'm all for conservation. However, Ted Nugent is more of a conservationalist that those Greenpeace people are. I'm totally serious about that, too.
RYC: thank you so much for your warm birthday wishes. When is your birthday?
@LadyValkyrie37 - Palin just seems to get better press coverage, so it feels like its Obama vs Palin, and I hardly even notice Biden.
